EGL Diamonds or EGL diamond Certification is a great way to buy a Diamond safely knowing you are receiving exactly what you have asked for and paid for!  These are great tips on buying certified loose diamonds.

EGL is an independent gemological laboratory providing independent consulting to grade diamonds for the purpose of grading the particular character of the loose diamond.   EGL diamond certifications do not provide a retail or wholesale value for the loose diamond.

Not only does egl certify diamonds but their are other independent laboratories that certify loose diamonds also.

GIA certified diamonds or Gemological Institute of America, also does excellent certification.  These laboratories certify loose diamonds all day long.  A gia diamond is a well respected certificate also.

When a diamond is sent to EGL to be certified it is inspected by numerous experts and is graded according to its various characteristics and then a egl diamond certification is issued for that particular diamond.  This process is rigorous and requires from five to eight graders just to inspect and agree on the egl diamonds certificate.

Any diamonds loose can be certified, no mounted diamond can be certified in the diamond engagement ring.  The gems must be removed to be certified.

The egl diamond certificate grades the diamond color, the diamond cut, the diamond clarity, and the diamond carat weight.
